Trillium Queensway Health Centre
The Trillium Hospital Queensway New Patient Tower is a transformative healthcare expansion that will become the future home of the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.
The 600,000 sq. ft., nine-storey facility is being developed to serve as a leading destination for complex care and rehabilitation services, helping meet the growing healthcare needs of the community. The project includes 353 private patient rooms, dedicated rehabilitation spaces, and a new Central Utility Plant designed to support both the new tower and existing campus infrastructure through four 1.5 MW generators.
SERVICES
Delivered under a Progressive Design Build Finance Maintain (PDBFM) model, the project brings together multiple stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment while consolidating specialized care programs currently spread across six separate locations into a single purpose-built facility. This integrated approach supports long-term operational efficiency while enhancing patient care and accessibility.
Plan Group is delivering the complete electrical and technology scope for the project, including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, UPS systems, nurse call, fire alarm, security systems, and integration of the new Central Utility Plant. The scope also includes modifications to the existing 27,600V switchboard and extensive BIM/VDC coordination to support design development and construction execution.
Through early procurement strategies, advanced BIM/VDC coordination, proactive planning, and contractual protections against market volatility, the team has successfully mitigated supply chain and cost challenges while maintaining project continuity and supporting successful delivery of this critical healthcare facility.
