Toronto Western Hospital New Surgical and Patient Tower
Plan Group is proud to play a central role in building Toronto Western Hospital’s new 15-storey Patient Tower, a project that will expand the largest surgical program in Canada.
Working alongside EllisDon, H.H. Angus, and Dialog, our team is delivering critical building systems including heating, plumbing, and medical gas; lighting, power distribution, and backup generation; as well as advanced communications and audiovisual technology.
The new tower will feature 20 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 82 private patient rooms, 16 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, medical-surgical units, and short-stay beds. Designed to enhance patient care and support future growth, this project strengthens Toronto Western’s ability to provide leading-edge healthcare for the community it serves.

With the addition of these advanced surgical robots, UHN will become home to the largest surgical robotics program in the country — further strengthening its ability to treat some of Canada’s most complex surgical cases and enhancing patient recovery times.
