Public Health Laboratory at MaRS Centre
The Public Health Laboratory, situated on the top four floors of the MaRS Centre, boasts an impressive 160,350 square feet of space and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The project also included around 5,000 square feet of mechanical penthouse space.
The project consisted of Containment Level 2 (CL-2) and Containment Level 3 (CL-3) laboratories, along with associated support systems, administrative areas, office spaces, and support facilities.
SERVICES
To ensure compliance with Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines (3rd edition, 2004), Canadian Biosafety Standards and Guidelines (currently in draft form), and other relevant regulations, the project adhered to strict regulations. The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) provided oversight.
Plan Group was the electrical contractor on this project. Our team was responsible for ensuring seamless integration and functionality of the facility's electrical systems, data communications/network infrastructure, and security systems.
