Ottawa Light Rail Transit - Confederation Line

Plan Group is the lead technology subcontractor for the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (OLRT) Stage 2 project, which expands the city’s east-west transit lines with 16 new stations and a central maintenance depot.

Our scope includes the full supply, installation, and commissioning of the communications network—critical infrastructure that supports the system’s functionality and reliability 1 2.

A key component of our work is at the Ottawa International Airport station, where we partnered with PCL to deliver fare payment terminals and all associated electrical and technology systems. This work is part of a broader standing offer agreement with the Ottawa International Airport Authority (OIAA), under which Plan Group also installed 50 OLRT fare management terminals across the airport campus 3 4.

This project enhances transit access for over 750,000 Ottawa residents and reflects Plan Group’s expertise in delivering complex, high-performance infrastructure in secure, public-facing environments.
