Mondelez Plant Expansion
The Mondelez plant in Toronto has been expanded to span three stories, and the construction required multiple mechanical systems and building services to be implemented. These systems and services were constructed and installed keeping in mind the strict food-grade sanitation standards.
Plan Group's scope of work encompassed all aspects of plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal within the new facility, as well as revisions to existing components in the adjoining facility. Of particular significance was the extensive work conducted on the roof of the addition, which served as the critical path for mechanical systems to ensure seamless operation.
SERVICES
The project also involved a significant upgrade of the electrical system, with the installation of five medium-voltage ring loop transformers feeding multiple 600/480V switchboards distributed throughout the building. Meticulous planning and execution were essential to ensure safety and efficiency, as the three floors operated on 480V power and one floor on 600V.
