Irving Shipyard
The Irving Shipyard Modernization Project presented a remarkable opportunity for Plan Group to showcase our expertise in providing cost-effective and time-sensitive design and installation solutions.
Collaborating closely with Irving and the design consultant, our field management team played a vital role in ensuring the success of the Modernization Program. The program aimed to prepare the facilities for the production of AOPS vessels and larger combatant ships, and we were thrilled to be a part of this significant undertaking.

At the heart of the modernization initiative was the construction of the "Ultra Hall," a towering structure measuring 47 meters in height, designed to facilitate the final production of the most massive ship sections under cover. This hall boasted impressive capabilities, including the ability to accommodate crane lifts of up to 360 metric tons, making it a crucial component of the project's infrastructure.
The project was characterized by its fast-track nature, demanding precise coordination and execution to meet Irving Shipbuilding's contractual commitments with the Canadian Federal Government. Despite these challenges, Plan Group completed the project on time, ensuring that Irving Shipbuilding was well-positioned to fulfill its obligations.
